Has The Subject 'Gone' Yet?

----------
One of the things that many who see a stage performance are most awed and baffled by is how does the hypnotist really know that a specific subject in a group is in a hypnotized state when someone else is not?

How can they honestly tell that this subject really is 'under' and not just faking it,?

Well it may surprise you, there are a lot of clear tell-tale signs that would be recognized by any skilled hypnotist that would tell them that the subject is now in a hypnotized state.

The easy answer is, he just can tell by looking in their eyes!

Here are a couple of the most telling signs that he might notice:

Extreme Red Eyes: Rather like the eyes of an individual who is really drunk or under the influence of some toxic substance, those who are hypnotized often have very red eyes! This is due to the relaxation of the eye muscles brought on by a hypnotic state results in significantly increased flows of blood through the veins surrounding the eyes, as a result causing noticeable reddening of the eyes.

Rapid Eye Movement (REM): Like an individual who is in a deep sleep in the midst of an active dream, a person in a hypnotic state will also exhibit noticeable rapid eye movement (R.E.M). Quivering of the eyelids, or the fast and seemingly irregular movement from side to side of the eyeballs are usual signs that the subject has receded deep into the realms of their subconscious mind.

Not a Dry Eye in the House: Hypnosis often increases the presence of water in and around the eyes, resulting from the extreme relaxing of the muscles surrounding the eye that control the individuals tear ducts.

On A Roll…: Again focusing on the eyes of the seemingly hypnotized subject, it is not unusual that a obvious rolling back of the eyeballs might occur as the subject goes into the trance state.

Body temperature: And, just to prove that there are signs that do not center on keeping watch on the individuals eyes, many people have drastic or distinct change in temperature. As the subject goes into a drastic relaxation zone, his pulse rate starts to lower down, as a result triggering a change in body temperature. This will vary from subject to subject – a majority of individuals will often feel cold, but for others, it's a slightly heated feeling that will spread all over.

Don not forget: hypnosis can be entertaining, it can be beneficial to others and yourself, it might fully work for you - or it might not at all. Never-the-less if used improperly it can be risky.
